1. About Us

These terms apply to services provided by Jack Newport trading as JN Electrics ("we", "us", "our"). By engaging our services or using this website, you agree to these terms.

2. Quotes & Estimates

  • All quotes provided are free and non-binding until a written agreement is reached.
  • Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
  • Prices may change if the scope of work changes after initial agreement.
  • VAT will be applied where applicable.

3. Payments

  • Payment terms will be agreed prior to work commencing.
  • A deposit may be required for larger jobs.
  • Invoices are payable within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed.
  • Online payments are processed securely by Stripe. We do not store card details.
  • Late payments may incur interest in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.

4. Cancellations & Rescheduling

  • We request at least 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may result in a call-out charge.
  • Deposits are non-refundable if work is cancelled by the customer after materials have been ordered.

5. Our Work

  • All work is carried out by a NAPIT registered, fully insured electrician.
  • Work is carried out in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
  • Certificates and test results will be provided for notifiable work.
  • We are not liable for pre-existing faults or damage discovered during work.
  • We warrant our workmanship for 12 months from completion. This does not affect your statutory rights.

6. Customer Responsibilities

  • You must ensure we have safe and reasonable access to the property and the relevant areas.
  • You are responsible for obtaining any necessary permissions (e.g. landlord consent) before work commences.
  • You must ensure the work area is clear and any valuables are moved prior to our attendance.

7. Liability

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the work carried out.
  • We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of earnings, or consequential losses.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death, personal injury, or fraud.

8. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
